Garner House - Claremont Heritage

Preserving the Past, Shaping the Future

Our Story

Step into a piece of Claremont history at the beautifully restored Garner House—a landmark designed in 1926 by renowned Pasadena architect Arthur Munson. Originally built as the largest single-family home in Claremont, the Garner House was home to the Garner Family—Herman, Bess, and their three sons—boasting eight stately bedrooms, five luxurious bathrooms, a charming music balcony, a cozy library, and separate wings for adults and children.

After serving the Claremont community in various capacities, the house became home to Claremont Heritage’s offices and archive in 2001. An extensive, period-appropriate restoration was later completed in 2024, with every wall treatment, floor, and fixture lovingly returned to its original splendor. This meticulous restoration preserves the home’s historic character and captures the spirit of an era when the house was the epicenter of Claremont’s social life.

Today, the Garner House is more than just a window into the past—it’s a vibrant venue perfect for your next event. Imagine hosting your celebration in a setting that artfully blends timeless elegance with modern amenities. Whether it’s a wedding, corporate gathering, family reunion, or any special occasion, the restored courtyard and meticulously maintained interiors offer a stunning backdrop for unforgettable memories.
